Music has long been associated with fashion and, as the worlds of celebrity and performer become increasingly blurred, so too have the worlds of musician and model. Most famously we have seen Beyonce work with H&M, Rihanna at River Island and, oddly enough, Brad Pitt as the first male face of Chanel No.5.
G-Star RAW have also promoted their fair share of celebrity endorsed collections in the past with indie heartthrobs Vincent Gallo and Sergio Pizzorno both lending their iconic styles to the brand. It seems then, that the power of celebrity style is money in the bank for many high street brands and fashion designers.
Most recently, G-Star have announced the collaboration with high-profile DJ, Afrojack which has taken its inspiration from his Jacked Homecoming tour earlier this year. The collection will include a selection of hoodies, caps, T-shirts and more and will be released on November 10th under the name of G-Star RAW X AFROJACK Capsule Collection.
While in Amsterdam, Afrojack worked closely with G-Star to finalise style, colour, fabric and the overall fit of the collection whilst also adding a few novel ideas of his own. In fact, the initial idea for the collaboration came from G-Star’s reference to the Afrojack “A-Crotch”, a design made for the DJ previously. With this in mind the collection promises to be innovative and stylish in equal measure and looks to be a best seller for the brand.
The DJ himself was extremely pleased with the outcome and has modelled some of the early designs himself, lending the collection an air of authenticity. Perfectly suited to his particular taste, the limited edition pieces look fantastic and will surely be a great seller for G-Star in the coming months.
For those looking to indulge in some G-Star style the collection will feature deep black denim and leather with prints that convey a technical feel. However, if the collection is not quite to your taste, it’s easy to find a wealth of RAW designs that will compliment your particular wardrobe perfectly. Why not head over to Zalando and take a look at some of the designs that have made G-Star such a celebrity draw whilst giving your wardrobe a stylish boost at the same time.
