NYFW: CAT Footwear At VFiles AW14 Show

By February 12, 2014Fashion News

En Noir are back this season with their latest designs which have come a long way from the leather joggers we know and love them for. Designer Rob Garcia and creative director Jason Wolter have turned things up a notch with each new season showing progression leading up to their SS14 collection. Fabrics have been manipulated via considerably understated dip dye’s whilst embossed leather updates the looks of streetwear staples such as bombers and tank top vests. However, the old En Noir is still present in the oversized leather basketball shorts. En Noir are continuing to successfully re-imagine streetwear staples and bring them to life.

New York based street wear retailer; VFiles, have had yet another crack at New York Fashion Week. In a similar style to their previous show, a competition was held to pick the three designers they wanted to show as well as stock in their store. ASSK, Melitta Baumeister and Hyein Seo turned out to be the chosen ones, showcasing minimalism, experimental proportions and shapes, punk inspirations and sportswear aesthetics with a touch of luxury.

However, what caught our eye most was the CAT footwear craze spotted on all the models for ASSK. Styled by Anna Trevelyan, all AW14 looks were finished off with the rugged boot. This isn’t the first we’ve heard of the brands support of new and emerging design talent as Alex Mattesson, Martine Rose and London College of Fashion have been on the receiving end of their support.
