When thinking of celebrity fashion icons, it’s quite hard to think of a man more influential on men’s fashion than David Beckham. Although Beckham may have worn a few questionable numbers, most famously a sarong in 1998, his sense of style today is on point. Beckham has earned the title of being one of the most fashionable men on the planet, and here at PAUSE we’ve gathered a small collection of some of the different looks that have caught our eye over the years.
Suave
A staple choice for Beckham throughout the years. Slick, suave and sophisticated. When it comes to wearing a suit there’s rarely a man who out-performs him. When wearing a suit he tends to add character to his look by adding little bits of details. From a folded pocket square, sunglasses and an eye-catching tie, Becks goes further to nail the accessories to make the whole look more crisp and sharp.
Biker
At last year’s London Fashion Week, Beckham donned his leathers to help biker brand Belstaff at the opening of their new store in London. Wearing a jacket, trousers and leather boots, he stood next to a bright orange BMW bike and needless to say we were always more drawn to the outfit. As you can see, Beckham simply wears a plain white tee under his jacket, giving the look a typical monochromatic simplicity which we always see with his looks. Clearly the Belstaff stylists knew this would resonate with what we already know about his fashion choices.
Urban
Here you can see a Beckham pulling off his urban look. For days when a suit would be overdoing it and when a jeans and t-shirt combination just isn’t enough, dressing with a bit of urban flair really comes into its own. Being a little casual with this look by half tucking in his denim shirt and rolling up sleeves, it gives a very gritty and rough impression to others, something that we at PAUSE have noticed popping up on the streets more and more these days.
Chilly Day
Every man needs a look for those cold winter days which require jackets, gloves and scarves and David Beckham is no exception! Even when the weather fails, Beckham doesn’t. Seen here wearing dress trousers, combined with a knee length and double breasted jacket, he projects the image of a dapper and gentlemanly look, that could be easily topped off with a hat, umbrella and gloves. Although this outfit is predominantly dark, we’re drawn to the tan shoes. Although they clash with the absence of colour within the rest of the outfit, it is something which works!
Smart Casual
Plaid shirts are coming back into trend yet. Seen here in an almost tartan looking printed shirt (buttoned to the top), paired with dark denim jeans and leather shoes, he gives off the smart casual impression oh so easily. A true PAUSE favourite!
So what do you think of our Beckham fashion round up? Do you agree with the looks we have selected or do you think there’s any we’ve missed? Feel free to let us know in the comments section below.
From everyone at PAUSE, we thoroughly look forward to what future looks David Beckham has in store for us and would like to wish him a belated happy birthday for May 2nd.
