Italian brand Etro showcased a very colourful SS15 collection at MFW, whilst still being able to retain some formality with its tailored jackets and trousers.
The show started off with a range of lightweight white tailored suits and yellow double-breasted jackets, paired with extra-large turtlenecks and striped shirts – seen plenty of times at Milan Fashion Week. Stripes were also used in their bolder suits, as well as ‘picnic style’ blue and red chequered suits.
As the Etro show progressed, more and more patterns and prints were introduced. Their signature pattern, paisley, was seen in their shirts and trousers, putting a playful and colourful spin on formal wear. Patterns used a tricolour palette and, as expected, details on the designs were highly sophisticated.
Other interesting points to note from the runway, was the layering of clashing prints and a rather bizarre range of food inspired collage prints. One of PAUSE’s favourite items from the SS15 range would have to be the bright teal trench coat. A standout colour for the summer and provides new life for a classic coat.
