Balenciaga offer up a suede, leather and rubber sneaker as a part of their new collection.
Dominating the footwear arena, Balenciaga has managed to create an amazing crossover sneaker. Luxurious, yet the ability to dress these up or down make them admirable. The main focus here is the black marble effect, against a white backdrop, that is printed on the outersole, toebox, and side panel that gets all the attention. Complimeted by a black leather heel, suede eyestay and even a reflective forefront; what does this sneaker not have! Designed with different fabrics, textures, materials and colours Balenciaga are not holding back. Available at Mr Porter for £365.

Today social media is a part of everybody’s life and has affected everything in some way. When it comes to fashion especially, social media is having a massive impact on the industry.
We at PAUSE love taking and seeing street style shots, and with growth of social media it’s even easier to find them everywhere. Like many other photographers and publications, PAUSE shares street style images across all our online platforms and within seconds we’ll see comments and views coming in, and the snap being shared and pinned, all over the world. Street style is there for everyone to see and with social media it makes it much easier.
Not only can fashion enthusiasts see street style straight away, but find inspiration through the use of hashtags and pins. If you want to find a particular look, pattern, trend or fashion icon, it can be found through a quick simple search. Fashion is now more accessible and refine through social media than ever. Also, hashtags can be used by brands to reach out to the audience’s they want to reach. Brands can also expand their audiences. Streetwear, high-street and designer brands can promote much more. Two prime examples of the power of social media is HYPE. and ADYN, both started out online, and through their Twitter and Instagram following’s, and now find themselves reaping the rewards of a strong social media presence.
It’s not only brands that benefit from social media but bloggers, publications and style influencers also. Social media makes fashion bloggers even more influential than just through their standalone blog. They are able to drive and push their content on multiple platforms, meaning their style and opinions can be pushed onto others.
Trends have also benefited from the online fashion culture, with fashion trends having the chance to come to fruition much sooner. Photos go online and have the chance to be exposed to either hype or criticism.
Social media has created an online community to talk about fashion and be influenced by it. Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and Tumblr have been powerful tools which have changed the way in which we interact with fashion and will continue to change it in years to come. PAUSE think it will only get bigger with social media.
