Menswear designer Benji Peng presents his Autumn/Winter 2015 collection entitled ‘American Acid Capsule’. The collection reflects a tale of a teenage boy growing up in an urban setting, with soft quirky designs that still own its urban upbringing. Being young not as free, the collection is about a boy who dresses himself up, roams around the city and peeks into the windows of the nightclubs that he is too young to enter. Benji takes inspiration from his own boyhood memories and the classic images of his obsessions in those days, ranging from David Bowie to TLC, Peng transports us back to our experimental mid-teen years. All those throwback moments have been revisited to produce his capsule collection, aiming to capture his youthful energy once again of adolescence in the city, which was executed through the juxtaposition of sportswear silhouettes with bits of clubwear and business attire. The integration of these elements captures the spirit of the collection, uniting different cultural references to complete the whimsical imagery of the teenage boy that Peng created.
