Inspired by the many facets of Guatemala, Missoni present SS17.
This season’s offering from Missoni draws influences from Central American Guatemala, featuring deep earthy hues and a colour palette reminiscent of a tribal rainforest. Aztecs, silks and technicolour stripes take to the runway in an exciting array of Italy’s finest craftsmanship – all showcased through reams of jacquard, Mexican inspired patchwork and extravagant prints.
The collection includes a range of mismatched knitwear, all signature to the classic Missoni brand, as well as a number of embroidered jackets and vintage looking shirts. It incorporates the best of Missoni’s staple aesthetics alongside an exhilarating fusion of Guatemalan culture, prints and fabrics. A truly multi-cultural contribution to this season’s Pitti Immagine Uomo.
Missoni’s refreshing Spring/Summer 2017 Collection
All along this Missoni show held during Milan Fashion Week, all the details mattered: small embroidered flowers were spread on some classic pieces of the new season (seen on a particularly stylish v-neck sweater), while the herringbone pattern dominated the overall Spring/Summer 2017 Collection. Although many have already tried it, the arrangement pattern has something of a symmetry that just fits with the latest Missoni presentation, unveiled under the yoke of diversity.
From the accessories to the scenery, from the very first to the last silhouette, the Italian established house underlined the importance of a diverse cast and refreshed the views on the up and coming faces, or already known features from the fashion crowds. For the Spring/Summer 2017 Collection, it was as though Missoni was trying to reclaim and recapture the modern silhouettes of our everyday lives. The house rightly drew inspiration from the ones who make trends all over the world and toyed with the classics lightweight pieces of the menswear wardrobe. Mixing both genres, prints and cuts – all eyes on the bermuda shorts combined with long-sleeved polo shirts – Missoni cleared the way to the next Spring/Summer season. We greatly look forward to it.
