There’s no doubt that fashion week is easily one of the favourites times of year for many a stylist, editor and buyer in the industry. While we all love it; the showmanship, the conceptual collections and the theatrics of it all can get a little overwhelming, and at times, your left longing for something a little simpler.
It’s a collection like Cerruti 1881’s SS17′ assemblage that offers oasis like respites during these moments of fashion suffocation. A collection that strips back the smoke and mirrors and diverts your attention to what we’re truly here for – the clothes. Cerruti’s Spring/Summer 2017 presentation did just that.
The clothes ranged through a thoroughly wearable selection of outerwear, relaxed tailoring, exquisite denim and a sprinkling of knitwear – while hitting a few trend notes along the way. The in-vogue camo print appeared on knitwear and bomber jackets, while both khaki and olive greens buffed up the popular predilection towards the trending colour.
Overall, we were presented with a strong, distraction free lineup that, although you won’t be seeing it on the cover of LOVE magazine anytime soon, you can be sure that the modern man will pick up a few pieces. After all, that’s what really matters, no?
