The Sankuanz SS17 collection merges street style with space wear. Sankuanz saw their models rustling down the runway in moon boots and aluminium capes in this divergent approach to summer wear, which is still relatively tame, even muted, compared to the brands previous campaigns. The shorts, hoodies and vests emblazoned with the Nasa logos and slogans are wearable, the raincoats even practical in the face of British summers. Much of the collection is based around Zhe’s fascination with the juxtaposition of villains and ‘hooligans’ as he revealed that in growing up during a time of political unrest, “China was not as open as it is now.”
All of “The Safe House A” collection is made up of colour combinations and tones that wouldn’t draw stares on the street, nonetheless Zhe’s and Zhen’s all-white synthetic ensembles have created a clinical mood, which leaves us feeling wary and intrigued.
