Appropriately named ‘Full Metal’ Kenneth Ning’s SS17 collection features a range of military inspired looks. Ning’s collection includes a range of vests in khaki, check, and varying camo tones, including green, dusty beige and a bulky black and white camo piece that looks similar to a bullet-proof vest. Trench coats and shorts were also given the camo treatment and the military theme continued into footwear with every model kitted out with a pair of jack boots or shoes with DM style yellow stitching. Ning’s SS17 collection is largely functional, practical even, featuring waterproof fabrics and more pockets than you’ll ever need, but there are exceptions: two unusual jackets with ostentatious fringed hoods that are a whimsical break from the discipline of Ning’s militaristic collection.
