Asger Juel Larsen proves anything can serve as inspiration.
When a fire destroyed the designer’s archive at his studio earlier this year, Asger Juel Larsen took the rather devastating event and turned it into the fiery inspiration for his Spring Summer 2017 collection. He payed ironic homage to the fire through flaming bowling shirts and fiery logos, and one can’t help but think the opening looks seem to be in a decidedly burnt colour palette. The collection has a grudge-meets-The Wild West vibe, seen through heavy studding and DIY patchworking mixed up with bolo ties, flannel shirts and denim. PAUSE’s stand out pieces include an oversized hot red animal skin jacket (another reference to the studio fire?) and a black T-shirt decorated with a flaming AJL logo.
