Bringing British roots to NYC.
Libertine’s Spring/summer 17 collection was not short of British heritage, bringing The Queen and The Union Jack down the runway. Sometimes- only sometimes- we really miss a bit of humour in the all-so-serious collections we see time and time again, so we are glad Libertine’s designer Johnson Hartig bought it back.
‘WE HATE EVERYTHING’ reads one complex embellished leather jacket whilst alongside The Queen’s face marches down on a tailored black blazer. The Union Jack is plastered all over a bomber jacket and a trench coat, both paired with matching shirts and trousers; the ultimate British look. The (champagne favoured) Vitalib jumper provided us plenty of humour- google it.
Our standout look is the black and white portrait printed shirt, trousers and coat. Crazy- yet still somehow minimal. We are also a fan of the mad fluffy sliders.
