Turning pollution into solution.

Arthur Huang, Taiwanese architect and engineer responsible for designing sustainable Nike Air Max packaging said: ”What we do here is very simple, we try to use the stuff we throw away and turn that into the most sustainable way with the least carbon footprint to create a new product. It’s all about turning pollution into a solution for the future.” He created the Air Max shoebox from recycled drink containers and lids where the plastic was derived from leftover consumer packaging and was manufactured with no added chemicals.

The top of the box can be split diagonally in half and the central section keeps the shoes in place. The shoebox can also be used as a backpack thanks to extra holes in the packaging through witch users can thread rope.

The shoebox was released on Nike’s annual Air Max Day.
