Browns influence since the 1970’s has been extreme, launching the careers of Alexander McQueen and Christopher Kane as well as stocking Calvin Klein and Jil Sander first.
Menswear Buying Director Dean Cook explained that “Sacai and Yohji Yamamoto we have only for East London, we just felt it was right for the mood round here. I think you just get a totally different mood around here, whereas the Mayfair one you get a lot of celebrities, footballers and regulars that have been coming to the business for 48 years, here it’s a new type, it’s a younger consumer that comes here.”
The store also features an art gallery, a rotating cafe, an “Immersive Experience Room,” “Store of the Future” technology and separate gallery space which will hold the Travis Scott x Ksubi collaborative collection of which Browns are the only European stockist. The store will, of course, stock the likes of OFF-WHITE, Vetements, Balenciaga, Raf Simons and more.
