Christopher Bailey Set to Depart From Burberry

Burberry has officially stated that their longstanding relationship of 17 years with Christoper Bailey is coming to an end. Christoper is the current president and chief creative officer but is set to step down from his position on the 31st of March 2018. However, the creative also assured everyone that he will “provide his full support on the transition to the team and our partners until the 31st of December 2018.”

The press release in which this news was made public saw a statement from the chief executive officer of Burberry, Marco Gobbetti, he had this to say: “Burberry has undergone an incredible transformation since 2001 and Christopher has been instrumental to the Company’s success in that period. While I am sad not to have the opportunity to partner with him for longer, the legacy he leaves and the exceptional talent we have at Burberry give me enormous confidence in our future. We have a clear vision for the next chapter to accelerate the growth and success of the Burberry brand and I am excited about the opportunity ahead for our teams, our partners and our shareholders.”

However, If you are a Burberry fan there is no reason to worry as Marco Gobbetti has already started looking for the individual who will be able to carry on the incredible momentum Christoper Bailey has generated over the last decade and a half, and we look forward to finding out who that person will be!
