PAUSE EATS: The Folly

By March 26, 2018Lifestyle, Restaurant

When it comes to some seriously stylish central London bars & restaurants, there are few who execute the brief better than Drake & Morgan. A contemporary collection of classy joints spread across the capital and country alike, they excel in walking the intricate tightrope of being a suitable spot for post-work drinks with colleagues, a dinner date, family brunches and everything in between.

Popping in for Sunday brunch, the place was buzzing. Not the kind of OTT obnoxious “get me out of here now” kind of busy, but the kind of hangover nursing buzz that may just inspire you to take the eternally debated ‘hair of the dog’ route.

As ever, the expansive menu has something to offer for all tastes and dietary requirements. From a traditional Sunday roast to the more contemporary (and equally delicious) halloumi sandwiches & crispy duck salads – there’s a remedy to any ravenous visitor.

For those opting to take the aforementioned ‘hair of the dog’ route to kick off their Sunday session, the selection of classic and newfangled cocktails complemented by the typical lineup of worldly wines, craft beers & more will not disappoint; from chocolate brownie martinis to an after eight iteration – liquid dessert has never looked so tempting.

A standard with Drake & Morgan properties, the staff were constantly both attentive and charismatic. Even during peak Sunday lunch, service was exceptional as ever and always delivered with a smile. Then again, working in such a beautifully designed space will likely have that effect.
