"Public Versus Private"

In addition to Helmut Lang’s recent unveiling of their Autumn/Winter 2018 collection, a capsule collaboration with Prize-winning artist Jeremy Deller is set to hit the shelves on 7th August.

After working alongside Gucci and Frieze, creating an installation based around the history of Rave as a genre of music and its culture, Deller has created a capsule of hoodies coming in three different shades of Pantone pink, a colour important to his life’s work.

Each hoodie features small patches in the interior of the garments, all of which are inspired by Jeremy Deller’s favourite artworks. These patches represent individuality whilst exploring the theme of “public versus private” inferring that that can be flashed to friends, viewed inside the hood, left as a personal secret or greeting depending on perspective. The hoodie is also reversible which reflects the idea of “public” as opposed to “private”.

The gallery below shows each piece from a “public” and “private” view.
