The Chinese-born, London-based menswear designer, Feng Chen Wang, has displayed her ability to revamp, in a notably contemporary fashion, the iconic American silhouette that is the Converse Chuck Taylor as well as the brand’s many apparel offerings. Specifically, the creative teamed up with Converse themselves in order to host a show in Shangai, at which a few stand out pairs were seen strutted up the runway matched with collaborative garments in excellent style.

As for what was seen, bright colours, gradiented hues and boundary pushing garments invaded the stage while the footwear did a great job at drawing the eye. The Chuck Taylors in some cases were playfully mixed and matched with other coloured iterations of itself to create a layered and bulky version of the model, while other times saw the pair simply cut and stitched to the point where the silhouette resembled more of a sandal than that of a Converse classic.

Take a look at the pairs and apparel below, if you like what you see then sit tight as various pieces are set to become available following  a retrospective exhibition at SHFW titled “This Is My Journey Through Life,” which is set to kick off Converse’s new “All The Stories Are True” campaign.
