The design world has lost a great philosopher and artist.
Khalid Al Qasim, the Founder and Creative Director of the eponymous brand, QASIMI has sadly passed away.
Born in the United Arab Emirates, and raised in the United Kingdom, QASIM has seen success in both London and Paris Fashion Weeks, after debuting his first collection back in 2008.
The son of His Highness, Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, U.A.E, Khalid paired his love for architecture and fashion design, unveiling collections that explored social-political issues, particularly those pertaining to the Middle East and its sometimes strained relationship with the West, with a goal to create ‘a world of beautifully crafted products infused with cultural, social and political undertones to inform and inspire.’
Khalid Al Qasim’s passing is certainly a great loss to the world of design.
