One of the globe’s most talked about annual music festivals, Coachella 2020 has been postponed amid growing fears over the Coronavirus spread and the particular issue of large gatherings.
Announced via the festivals channels yesterday, the former dates over the weekends of April 10th-12th & April 17th-19th have now been rescheduled to October 9th-11th & 16th-18th. While no confirmation as to whether the existing lineup will all be playing the new date, the festival’s promoter Goldenvoice commented in a statement;
“While this decision comes at a time of universal uncertainty, we take the safety and health of our guests, staff and community very seriously.”
The news of the festivals postponing follows a slew of other artists, agents and promoters cancelling gigs amid fears of the growing virus in the US and internationally.
