Young Looking Skin: Tips & Tricks

By February 14, 2021Guest Post

All of us want to age gracefully and seamlessly, but not many of us are willing to work to make that dream come true. If you think you can age like fine wine without effort, you’re very wrong. Aging is accelerated by the environmental factors, lack of care and harmful lifestyle habits, and most of these you can control. So, to keep your skin looking young and plump, you need to take proper care of it and have a mindful approach to skincare. Sounds complicated? Don’t worry (frowning won’t help your skin either) and follow these tips and tricks for perfect skin.

Live by CTM rules

You don’t have to follow a complicated 10-step Korean skincare regimen every day. If you always do the three most important steps—cleansing, toning and moisturizing—you’ll be just fine. No matter if you still didn’t have your morning coffee or if you’re just hitting the bed, a proper CTM routine should be on your mind. Start with a thorough cleanse at the beginning of your day, continue with a good toner and moisturize for the win. At night, make sure to remove makeup and dirt from your face, then tone and moisturize to reduce breakouts and dullness.

Exfoliate regularly

For a breath of fresh air and that healthy glow, your skin needs to shed all the dead skin cells. To help this process, you can turn to exfoliation. Use a scrub once or twice a week or go for a chemical peel. You can have a professionally-conducted chemical peel at any skin clinic (those that contain AHA and BHAs are the best), but make sure to consult with your dermatologist before you take that step.

Use anti-aging skincare products

Collagen- and retinol-based skincare products are many women’s secret weapons in the fight with aging skin. Retinol and retinoid is a derivative of vitamin A which contains great anti-aging properties such as reducing fine lines and wrinkles and boosting collagen production. While you can find retinol creams at any pharmacy or beauty store, retinol-based products might require a doctor’s prescription. On the other hand, if you want to find something with collagen-restorative effects, simply visit https://www.herbaldynamicsbeauty.com/collections/fine-lines-wrinkles and order your product. Something natural and free of paraben and phthalate is your safest choice.

Hide dark circles with concealer

Once you reach a certain age, you’ll realize you need a concealer under your eyes. However, if not used properly, this product can sink into lines and draw even more attention to your wrinkles. To prevent this from happening, apply it only on the inner halves of your under-eye area to cover up the darkness. Your second option is to ditch concealer and choose a brush-on highlighter pen.

Go easy on powder

While it has its benefits, powder can make your skin look dry and accentuate pesky lines on your face. For people with oily skin who want to hide extra shine, you can opt for a translucent powder that won’t build up on your face. Also, ditch the face brush for dusting and use a powder puff instead while focusing on specific areas like the problematic T-zone.

Add a hint of blush

To add some life to your dull skin, you can apply a touch of blush. But make sure to choose the right color for your skin tone. Fair-medium skin looks best in peachy tones, while darker skin loves deep shades of red, orange and brown (anything that shimmers should be avoided). Make sure to be subtle with blush—you don’t want to look overly flustered.

Always wear sunscreen

It’s well-known that UV rays speed up the skin-aging process and cause freckles, dark spots, wrinkles and other skin damage. So every time you’re leaving the house in the summer, slap on some sunscreen that has at least SPF 30 and PA+ rating (PA+ sunscreen protects you from UVA and UVB rays offering best coverage).

If you’re not used to regular skincare, all these products and processes might sound complicated, but once you start seeing results and getting compliments, you’ll stick to your skincare regimen and keep your skin looking firm, plump and radiant.
