Marking the 10th anniversary of Études and the 60th anniversary of Klein’s death, Études & Yves Klein have joined forces for a collaboration that looks to join art and fashion.
Both Études & Yves Klein’s avant-garde work looks to push through boundaries of what art could and should be, with their joined minimalist principles looking to create a dialogue that explores the international dimensions of their work. In an attempt to display “immateriality and the infinite”, Klein creates the colour International Klein Blue (IKB), which is used to denote space, freedom, and purity throughout the collection.
The pieces themselves see the signature ‘ultramarine’ blue take over the range, with there being an array of dyed, bleached, and flocked denim and cotton garments up for grabs. Screen and digital prints are placed onto basic shirts and t-shirts, as well as there being additional pieces like cobalt blue hats and limited edition acetate sunglasses.
