Looking to a zero carbon and zero waste future, Nike are providing their members with the exciting opportunity to repair and up-cycle their damaged Nike garments in order to extend the life-journey of their favourite pieces of clothing or footwear, moving towards a more sustainable model of maintaining Nike garments in the long-term. The repair and care service is exclusively available via individual booking slots, with Nike Expert Jawad being on hand to oversee and guide the whole process. He will also be providing members with their own special tools and knowledge to resurrect any other damaged pieces all in the comfort of their own home.

At NikeTown London, the ‘Move to Zero’ repair and care service works by taking your garment, locating the wear and tear, and repairing it professionally, all the while providing Nike members with the chance to play designer as they get to choose a variety of differently coloured replacement stitching, distinctive patchwork styles, as well as an array of vibrant iron-on graphic Nike patches. After the repair, Nike Expert Jawad will send each member away with a free Trash Hacker Guide which includes step-by-step instructions on at-home product repair, whilst additionally providing a Trash Hacker kit that includes a range of threads, needles, and other unique customisation add-ons.

The separated ‘Move to Zero’ area of NikeTown London also boasts a range of specially curated sustainable garments that encourages members to buy environmentally-friendly pieces, giving buyers the chance to not only look good in what they buy, but feel good about it as well. Some of the pieces from the latest collection include products like the Nike Zoom Alphafly Next Nature and the men’s Engineered Fleece Top and women’s Shine Jacket from the Nike Sportswear Therma-FIT Tech range, with the former being composed out of at least 50% recycled content by weight, underlining Nike’s dedication to forming environmentally-friendly solutions. Finding sustainable products can often be a hassle, but Nike have made it easy once again. Their ‘Nike Sunburst’ symbol keeps you in the loop and lets you know that any garment with that mark is composed of at least 50% recycled content, as well as telling you that shoes are made with at least 20% recycled content by weight.

Nike are set to continue their ‘Move to Zero’ campaign throughout the year and set up various repair and care sessions for Nike members, giving them direct access to all of Nike’s latest and greatest sustainable products and services. One such service is Nike’s transformative Trash Labs workshop, which sees Nike work together with local designers like AGR and Greater Goods to transform damaged and used products into something new and fresh. Looking to help secure the future of sport, and most importantly the world, Nike show that they’re not waiting for solutions; they’re creating them.
