La Jungle Du Roi, tucked away in the Cannes cityscape, is a haven of peace and luxurious chic, where German designer Philipp Plein calls one of his many homes. Upon entering the eloquence, you experience a sensibility that embodies Philipp Plein’s aesthetic – pure extravagance.
The vibes are plentiful and bubbly, not only from the champagne flowing upon entry, but from the sizeable, stunning flower sculpture emulating Philipp’s debut women’s fragrance bottle, expected to release at the end of October, amidst the floral-draped pool beneath.
There’s a sense of newness and ambition in the air, seemingly anticipated after the seclusion the pandemic once brought to our lives. “I am excited to get back to touring my collections, especially after COVID-19. I make lifestyle products and behind the pieces, there is life to be seen and that’s the most important thing…” he tells PAUSE.
Philipp Plein’s private screening cinema room was the first opportunity guests had to experience [his world] before entering it, where he played three films devoted to each product, shot in Paris, New York, and the metaverse, all visible whilst having the opportunity to munch on chocolate-covered popcorn served to you on a platter.
In a way, this is a premonition of how things would really get when you’re invited to an event organised by Philipp Plein. The concept of boundaries is unthinkable, and opulence comes naturally.
Besides the launch of his new women’s fragrance, beautifully exhibited throughout his grandeur driveway, the extravagant bash – which was exclusive to invitations only – also saw the release of new sunglasses with a complementary NFT and an exclusive Skeleton watch in collaboration with Timex.
When you are aware of the artistic zeitgeist of an era, you are capable of expanding your own creativity – and for Philipp Plein, it just comes naturally.
THE $KELETON TIMEPIECE
With its neon colour-way, the limited-edition watch redefines the concept of limits as if in harmony with the neoclassical design of the residences’ architecture. As part of the continuous futuristic theme, hexagonal screws adorned with a luxurious carbon fibre effect punctuate the watch whereas the silicone straps made using 3D printing retain hexagonal shapes in their hollows.
PLEIN FATALE
The Philipp Plein woman is magnetic, a charming seductress. Her fragrance resembles her: dangerous and sensual. Spectacularly adorned with opulent glass, feminine curves and gold accents – the perfume pays tribute to life’s joyous moments and makes everyday special. Titled ‘Plein Fatale’, the fragrance has been dubbed PP’s secret weapon of seduction. Just one of the many facets the define the brand.
DE RIGO PRESENTS: THE CRYPTO KING$ LIMITED EDITION
Known for his provocative sense of style and maximalist sensibility, Philipp Plein launched the first phygital (physical and digital) eyewear style entitled ‘The Crypto King$ Limited Edition’.
