Skepta is a man of many talents. He didn’t just stop at being one of UK Rap’s biggest names but went on to design as he collaborated with Nike on several sneakers clothing items as well as even venturing into the world of art, having recently sold his first painting at a Sotheby’s sale for almost $100,000. Now, as he has just turned 40, he’s thinking about the next generation and how he can nurture them on the road to success, much like his own.
The result is Big Smoke Corporation, a multi-faceted creative collective that will focus on creative consultancy and the support of creators themselves. They already have two huge partnerships in Puma and Channel 4; having successfully launched a new sneaker with Puma just last week at an immersive event in London where the guest list comprised of young talent from the culture and communities that Skepta and his team have grown up with and championed. They are also working as consultants for Channel 4’s new digital platform by providing content, talent insight and strategic vision in order to effectively engage with the younger audience. Big Smoke Records will also be launching in the coming months under the Big Smoke Corporation name.
