PAUSE Picks: Top Sneaker Releases of the Week

Salehe Bembury x New Balance 1906R

The return of Salehe Bembury with New Balance was certainly worth the wait as the duo reunite for their double take on the 1906R silhouette. Titled “HEAT BE HOT”, this release saw two striking “Lava” and “Hot Magma” iterations bubble to the surface, with the former pair being where our focus lies. The futuristic take on the 1906R sees Bembury opt for a yellow to orange to red gradient styling on the mesh base layer, while an overlaying dose of silver arrives on the upper. Of course, Salehe Bembury branding sits pretty on the midfoot tab, with NB’s typical N-ergy outsole, Stability Webbing, ACTEVA LITE midsole and ABZORB SBS heel features keeping their place. A heater (literally).

Salomon ACS Pro

Bringing forward a Lil Yachty style colourway if ever we’ve seen one, this Salomon ACS Pro debuts a fun “Black/Lemon/Red” colour scheme. The ‘Gorp-core’ staple features a domineering overlapping yellow across the midsole and upper, with various splashes of red, blue, black and silver furthering this primary colour scheme. Endless outfit combinations with this pair.

Crocs Echo Storm

Taking a futuristic approach to their silhouettes once again, Crocs have put forward a stellar iteration of their Echo Storm silhouette for these grey and stormy winter days, titled “Cirrus.” The low-riding shape brings forth a more comfort-centric slip-on style as grey tonal padding hits the minimal sock lining alongside a light grey riveted upper and lime green insoles. A perfect pair for the modern man.

Diemme Possagno

Get ahead of the curve with Diemme’s Possagno silhouette, a unique and wholly one-of-one take on a lifestyle shoe. Resembling the essence of a ‘runner’ sneaker – which is a silhouette much in the mix right now – the clean white and grey pair utilise various materials, such as suede and nappa leather, across the multi-material upper as mismatched cuts of grey adorn the toe box, heel, and midfoot, with a Vibram midsole unit adding that extra attention to comfort. Be quick, this is a pair you should grab sooner rather than later.

ASICS GT-2160

Last but certainly not least, the ASICS GT-2160 is here to stay in 2024 as the running-come-lifestyle sneaker makes another stellar case for being this year’s go-to shoe. This clean “Cream/Silver” colourway ticks every metaphorical box, with the neutral colour palette being contrasted with a luxe gold striping that stretches from heel to toe, with a cushioned midsole and mesh composition keeping your feet happy throughout the day.
