Balenciaga is taking it old school as it debuts its Le City Bag campaign, following a hiatus spanning over 20 years. In celebration of the launch, Balenciaga has shot stars like Kate Moss and Mona Tougaard for campaign imagery.
Synonymous with the lifestyle trends coming out of 2001, the Le City bag has been revamped all while keeping its maximalist and practical features. To achieve their goal, the team at Balenciaga studied numerous archived styles and models, concluding with a 25-panel reconstruction. The modern bag replicates vintage versions using similar dimensions and layers on both the interior and exterior, including reinforced corners with small buckles, thimble-like studs, and an overall exterior that patinas over time.
Balenciaga dropped the modern Le City bag in small and medium sizes with adjustable shoulder and crossbody straps. It’s introduced in a slew of colourways, including but not limited to black, purple, metallic silver, and blue.
