Originally introduced in 1999, the New Balance 1000 returns with its innovative design, embracing the Y2K aesthetic. In addition to the new style, the brand has added British rapper Dave to its growing roster of original talent as its newest ambassador.
In New Balance’s latest campaign for the 1000, Dave stars in a street race scenario, capturing the versatility of the style, exploring the threads between culture, style, and individuality. In addition to the film that was directed by Elliot Elder and George Muncy of the award-winning studio Uncanny, the campaign was also shot by esteemed photographer Ewen Spencer, one of the pioneers of capturing youth subcultures in the UK since the late 1990s.
With its unmistakable identity, the 1000 is decidedly non-traditional, paying homage to its futuristic, turn-of-the-millennium roots while seamlessly blending into the modern sneaker landscape. Setting it apart from the crowd, the 1000 comes with a streamlined silhouette, prominent overlay panels, segmented, sculpted sole unit and nylon eyelets.
