Stüssy x Nike expectedly returns for the summer season as the duo go slightly less mainstream for this latest creative venture, teaming up for what looks to be a surf-themed capsule.
Basing their opening teaser video around the world of surfing and seas, Stüssy x Nike look set to be getting back into their groove as the iconic duo head way back to their founder’s roots for this new capsule. Despite being vague as to what the range is inclusive of, Stüssy and Nike do show a sneak peek of a couple of water-ready pieces, including a pair of collaboratively-branded orange swim shorts and a similarly designed Stüssy x Nike surfboard. Interestingly, a nod to surfing throughout this debut campaign video maybe an indication to Stüssy founder, Shawn Stussy, and his re-emerging role in the streetwear titan’s design process, with the California native having originally started out as a surfboard shaper. Coincidentally, Shawn Stussy recently announced his decision to step back into the limelight and come out of retirement to continue working more proactively with the wider Stüssy team.
This latest Stüssy x Nike is set to release on July 12th via the Stüssy website.
