Are BIG bags the new BIG trend?
For years, fashion has had us squeezing our lives into bags barely large enough for a phone. lululemon, it seems, has had enough and has flipped this notion onto its head. The brand has gone firmly in the opposite direction with its new Big-Ass Bag 80L, an oversized carryall that does exactly what its name promises. Measuring 83cm by 56cm by 32cm, the bag holds a substantial 80 litres, making the micro-bag look even more impractical than it already did.
Designed for everything from gym gear and weekend essentials to groceries and laundry, the bag comes with padded shoulder straps, multiple compartments and a dedicated water-bottle pocket. There is even a smaller tote designed to store the bag when it is not in use.
After years of tiny accessories dominating the conversation, the pendulum is swinging back towards bags that can, quite literally, carry everything. And in classic lululemon fashion, they’ve decided not to do subtle. What are your thoughts?
