Trapstar Turns 20
London-born brand Trapstar turns twenty, stamping its mark on the culture it has shaped over the years by framing its history. On Saturday night, Trapstar marked the start of its 20th anniversary with “The Culture” exhibition at Saatchi Yates during London Fashion Week.
Central Cee, who has worn the brand since his earliest videos, supported alongside guests Koffee, Grace Ladoja, Lancey Foux, Slawn, Chito, SYMBLE and K-Trap, all turning out to celebrate while Skyla Tylaa kept the night moving on the decks.
The exhibition highlighted the Trapstar archive, featuring campaign imagery, personal photography and unreleased material tracing the brand from its underground beginnings to global streetwear. At the centre sat the story of founders Mikey, Lee and Will. Slawn, 10 Foot, SYMBLE and Chito each contributed new work, and 10 Foot dropped a limited run of handmade, numbered T-shirts for the occasion. The forthcoming 20th anniversary collection also made an appearance and drops soon.
