A lesson in craftsmanship.
Auralee is linking up with Stockholm-based SALON C. LUNDMAN for a new capsule collection, marking the first time the two labels have worked together. Titled “A Conversation”, the project brings their respective design styles to clothing, resulting in a considered range of tailoring, everyday items and accessories.
Founded by Christoffer Lundman in 2022, SALON C. LUNDMAN is all about classic tailoring with a twist, mixing clean Scandinavian design with playful details like asymmetric buttoning and pearl embellishments. The imprint also puts craftsmanship first, favouring small-scale production and close relationships with specialist makers over over-produced drops.
Outerwear comes in the form of a wool-and-cashmere balmacaan coat, which is hand-finished in Stockholm with embroidery inspired by stones and shells. Elsewhere, a seamless long-sleeve T-shirt gets a beaded upgrade, while cashmere knitwear, a soft stole and a knitted cap round out the offering.
The Auralee x SALON C. LUNDMAN collaboration lands in limited quantities at Dover Street Market Ginza’s “OPEN HOUSE” event in Tokyo on 24 October. To mark the launch, pics of 12 people wearing the same look will appear on in-store posters, celebrating how differently the same clothes can come to life on different people.
