A Permanent Position.
Jean Paul Gaultier has announced Duran Lantink as its new permanent creative director, signalling a strategic shift towards a more cohesive vision for both its ready-to-wear and haute couture lines.
This appointment marks the end of a five-year period where the brand collaborated with a rotating roster of guest designers, including Chitose Abe, Glenn Martens, and Ludovic de Saint Sernin, each bringing their unique interpretations to the Gaultier aesthetic. Lantink’s inaugural ready-to-wear collection is slated for Spring/Summer 2026, debuting in September, followed by his couture presentation in January, promising a unified creative direction across the brand’s offerings.
The announcement was met with enthusiasm from Jean Paul Gaultier himself, who likened Lantink’s energy and boldness to his own early career, welcoming him as the “new enfant terrible of fashion.”
