adidas Originals Unveils A-TYPE to the Public for the First Time

The Brand's Most Premium Collection.

After spending a year circulating exclusively among adidas’ inner circle, the brand’s most premium line is finally going public: the adidas Originals A-TYPE. The Three Stripes’ pinnacle collection dedicated to artisanal craft and top-shelf materials hits retail for the very first time on May 7th, landing at just eight carefully chosen stockists worldwide.

The inaugural capsule brings with it a handmade Italian leather Superstar complete with cashmere laces and silver jewellery, a sheep leather Firebird tracksuit cut in Milan, and a limited-edition football kit that nods to the FIFA World Cup 2026, all anchored by a revived 1970s Trefoil that runs across every label and piece of imagery.

adidas is reaching into its archive and pulling out its most iconic silhouettes like the Superstar, the Firebird, the football and then handing them to the best ateliers in the game and asking what happens when sportswear DNA meets couture-level execution. Moulded shoe boxes, wooden shoe trees, debossed leather Three Stripes, detachable lace tips: every detail is intentional, every quantity is deliberately limited.
