adidas Taps Iconic Football Players for Their ‘Backyard Legends’ Campaign

adidas brought football legends, Lionel Messi, Lamine Yamal, Jude Bellingham, Trinity Rodman, Zinedine Zidane, Alessandro Del Piero, and buzz cut David Beckham to star in their ‘Backyard Legends’ film. Timothée Chalamet acts as a football manager to Bellingham, Rodman, and Yamal telling them the tale of the three legends in the back of the car. Clive, Ruthie and Isaak were so strong that Zidane, Beckham and Del Piero were no match for them. Chalamet drove the trio to their stomping ground set in a nostalgic 1990s street. Messi and a surprise appearance from Bad Bunny questioned the trio’s ability while Chalamet joked that Messi was his next contender. The scene closed with “You’ve Got This” – a message that delivered a simple truth. Anyone can become a football player through commitment and dedication regardless where you come from.

Chalamet stated that: ““I used to dream of playing with these guys – you know, I was playing at Pier 40 as a kid, thinking about Beckham’s free kicks, Del Piero’s goals, and Zidane’s volleys – doing my own versions. I love this game, so it’s unbelievable to be doing this with adidas, captured with the best to ever do it.  I’m a traditionalist, I don’t know soccer, I know football, and I can’t wait for this summer’s World Cup.”
