Americana and Ivy Influenced Workwear.
KENZO’s Pre-Spring 2027 revisits their archival ‘Kenzo Work & Play’ label and uses it as a reference point to develop new seasonal utility silhouettes and casual essentials. Developed with vintage finishes, the carpenter pants, utility jackets, and casual pieces evoke a ‘lived-in’ feel, while the sharper forms suit a more ‘dressed-up’ aesthetic. Across the womenswear, poplin blouses, pleated skirts, and a red kimono-inspired dress add a feminine touch to casual dressing. In continuation with the past seasons, neutral tones are balanced with stronger, contrasting hues.
Referencing traditional resist-dyeing techniques, archival Ikat flowers add dimensionality while the ‘Kenzo Work & Play’ graphic is embroidered on select pieces. Inspired by the way creative director Nigo signs his ceramic pieces, the Kenzogram is stamped alongside camoflauge motifs taken from the irregularity of handcrafted ceramics. Tying in with the archival vibe, Kenzo’s Move sneaker features ‘worn-in’ finishes and mixed material uppers. A new nylon bag line, the Janguru, is unveiled with camouflage motifs, tiger charms, and embroidery.
