As this year wraps up, designers start to ready their SS15 collections.
Japanese brand Mr. Gentleman, have showcased what’s to come ahead of the new year. The collection reflects landscapes inspired by some of the most fashionable countries and cities, such as Mexico, Italy, France as well as New York; adopting those colours, fabrics and silhouettes that are prevalent within those regions. More specifically pastel colours are heavily featured, lilacs, greens and blues paired with loose fits, checks and cool outerwear.
The collection is quite simple on the eye, and not overdone. It kind of has a throwback feel that reflects simplicity, and disposes of some fabrics and cuts that have dominated runways for a little while now.
That means no leather panels, or mesh materials in sight. No baroque inspired symmetrical prints, or heavy colours, just a straight-forward collection. There are two pieces that standout however, the camoflauge jacket that has a superb cut and design; and an amazing Jaquard jacket that is printed with the rooftops of Cinque Terre, Italy.
Look for more information on this back-to-basics collection from MR. Gentleman as we near the end of 2014. In the meantime, see the rest of the collection below.

It’s been a long time coming for music mogul and entrepreneur Will.i.am.
Over three years in rumour mill, Will has branched out into the world of wearable technology, and launching a PULS smart band, dubbed ‘the cuff’, with his i.am+ company. The sleek design offers a music player, GPS, a pedometer, fitness tracking as well as the novelty of social media apps, Facebook and Twitter at your wrist. A capacity of 16gb as well as built-in bluetooth and wi-fi. As if the apps wasn’t enough!
Will.i.am describes the PULS as “fashion tech”, rather than wearable tech, which I guess means that the “cuff” will look good more than anything. Important to note, this is not a watch. When comparing it to competitors, such as the galaxy gear or the latest watch put forth by Apple; the PULS has been designed so it doesn’t need to be compatible with a smart phone. Unlike its counterparts, the PULS utilizes a built-in mirrored SIM in order to make calls and texts.
There is no doubt that the man is on to something here, and whilst technology and fashion continues to cross paths this is a good rival. Rumours have already circulated that more is to come from will.i.am and his team, in regards to fashionable technology. Expect to see a ‘Power Wear Jacket’ and an interesting pair of shoes to accompany the watch!
