A Lavish Sanctuary.

Travis Scott has once again pushed creative boundaries, this time collaborating with Rick Owens to craft a lavish backstage sanctuary for his Utopia—Circus Maximus tour. In an exclusive conversation with Architectural Digest, Scott described the space as “an extension of my brain,” blending comfort, creativity, and innovation. Given their shared appreciation for bold, avant-garde aesthetics, it’s no surprise that Scott and Owens—fashion’s dark prince—would come together to create a setting that resonates with both of their unique styles.

The heart of this collaboration is the “Tech Glade,” a reimagined version of Rick Owens Furniture’s 2019 “Glade” design. Featuring plush, cocoon-like seating beneath a canopy, it offers both relaxation and tech accessibility, creating a mobile hub for Scott’s creative process. Equipped with a large-screen TV and a Damien Quintard-designed recording studio, the space serves multiple purposes, whether Scott is recording music, watching movies, or simply unwinding.

This project also highlights the influence of Michèle Lamy, Rick Owens’s partner and muse, whose creative input has been vital. Known for her vision and distinctive aesthetic, Lamy ensured the Tech Glade was not only luxurious but also adaptable, able to be set up in a variety of backstage environments.

Constructed from Rick Owens’s signature materials, such as batipin plywood and French wool army blankets, the Tech Glade echoes Owens’s Brutalist sensibilities while providing a serene, nature-inspired retreat. The combination of futuristic design and earthy elements embodies both Scott’s futuristic vision and Owens’s timeless edge, resulting in a backstage environment that’s as functional as it is artfully designed.
