When you look at designers like Mazhar, you can’t help but admire the strong, fearless and assured sense of direction. In the current oversaturated fashion landscape, where a seemingly endless amount of new designers crop up each season – a designer who knows their direction, their aesthetic and, most importantly, their customer is comparable to seeing a familiar face in a sea of well-dressed strangers.
For SS17′ Nasir Mazhar continues his reign as one of the capital’s sovereigns of streetwear with an immediately identifiable collection of old favourites mixed with some new gems. The typical slew of tracksuits, technical fabrics, prints and bucket hats made an appearance, only to be complimented by some super stylish springtime wear in the form of meshed overlay tracksuits, cut-out tracksuits and splashes of fur.
While, for some, the continued reappearance of similar silhouettes and samey fabric choices scream uninspired monotony – when it comes down to it, Nasir knows precisely what he’s doing. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it… after all, consistency is king.
