The FW16 ‘METAMORPHOSIS’ collection.
For Fall/Winter 16, This Is Not Clothing present a collection titled ‘METAMORPHOSIS’.
(A change of the form or nature of a thing or person into a completely different one. – you’re welcome).
The artwork featured across the clothing are called ‘Hyacinthus’ & ‘The Transformation of Daphne’, which are characters drawn from Greek myths. Hyacinthus and Daphne were made immortal by turning into botanical elements through metamorphosis, which is a process that evolves from the idea of natural rebirth- are you still with us?
Basically, it promises immortality and the myths look at the boundaries, or lack of, of human life and existence.
The film attached (which, I’m afraid, probably won’t clarify things) is directed by artist Jam Sutton, also the creator of the collection.
