Gucci’s Cruise 2019 Show Sets Sail for Arles, France

Gucci's previous Cruise show at Westminister Abbey.

Every year for the last 3 years Gucci has held a Cruise show and it has always been the place to be for those in the fashion industry. Furthermore, the display has always been hosted at a place that is culturally significant, so far it has been held at New York’s DIA Art Foundation for the label’s 2016 collection, then Westminster Abbey in London for the 2017 collection and most recently the Palatina Gallery at Palazzo Pitti in Florence for the 2018 collection. As for Gucci’s 2019 display, it has been officially announced that it will take place in Arles, France, on the 30th of May. Specifically, the site will be at Alyscamps which dates all the way back to the Roman era and is thought to be the final resting place of St. Trophimus, who is said to have been the first Christian bishop of Arles, additionally, it is thought that Jesus Christ himself attended his burial ceremony. If that wasn’t enough to impress you, it is also recorded that Vincent van Gogh and Paul Gauguin painted side by side at Alyscamps so there is no arguing that the chosen place isn’t culturally significant enough!
