Masterpeace at Moscow Fashion Week
Amidst the diverse array of styles and concepts unveiled at the world’s fashion weeks, including London, our attention now shifts to the trends unveiled on the Moscow runway. Moscow Fashion Week, a grand global affair held in the vibrant Russian capital, serves as a beacon of unparalleled creativity and an exceptional display of innovative design solutions. We sifted through the dazzling collections of Moscow Fashion Week to highlight the most striking ensembles.
Fringe: From Boho to Romantic
The boho aesthetic seamlessly intertwined with the urban nomad allure on the Moscow Fashion Week catwalk. Designers skillfully integrated one of the key elements of these styles – fringe – into a variety of wardrobe staples, transforming them with a touch of whimsy. Leffers, the Moscow-based label, introduced long fringe detailing on a pastel green trench coat, adding a whimsical touch to the classic silhouette. Loom Weaving‘s knitted garments and Kotova‘s romantic dresses were also embellished with playful fringe accents, elevating each ensemble with a bohemian charm.
Statement Shoulders
This spring-summer season witnessed a reimagining of familiar pieces through a lens of femininity. Embracing accentuated shoulder lines and billowy sleeves, designers enhanced the elegance of long coats, jackets, shirts, and dresses. Emre Erdemoğlu‘s rendition of a black jacket exuded a powerful yet feminine energy, while Ogo Citizen injected a bold touch to everyday ensembles with eye-catching sleeve embellishments. Elisabetta reimagined the classic coat with statement shoulder accents.
Soft Pastel Palette
In the wake of a long, dreary winter, Moscow Fashion Week designers advocated for a pastel resurgence in wardrobes. From the delicate green trouser suit by I-La to the multi-hued midi dress by Unke, pastel hues reigned supreme on the runways. AP Design curated a vacation-ready ensemble featuring an elongated shirt and loose shorts, encapsulating a sense of effortless elegance for the season ahead.
Tailored Elegance
Celebrating feminine silhouettes, designers this season shifted towards fitted cuts, favoring waist emphasis over the oversized trend. Russian labels like Toomatch, and Imkmode showcased the art of tailoring, accentuating the waistline for a sleek and polished aesthetic. Championing retro aesthetics and vibrant color palettes, designer Alexander Varlakov accentuated the waist with a wide black belt to command attention.
Velvet Revival
Velvet has officially made a comeback in our wardrobes. This opulent fabric looks particularly striking in trouser suits and dresses. Ruban reimagined the classic tuxedo in velvet fabric, and designer Darya Kipryanova presented a bold total red look. Designer Julia Dalakian ventured into a deep emerald shade while crafting a modern velvet jumpsuit in an industrial style – an entirely unexpected and intriguing choice.
Berry Hues
It’s impossible to envision a modern woman’s wardrobe without the trendy burgundy shade. Moscow Fashion Week designers took it a step further, showcasing an array of berry shades. For example, Post Ironic drew inspiration from luscious and succulent berries to create a stylish and bold loose-fitting patent leather jacket. Designer Sergey Sysoev showcased several looks in deep red color including the two piece set, embellished with a flower. The Alpe Cashmere brand assembled a fashionable total look from berry-colored knitwear.
Blooming Beauty
Flowers symbolize the arrival of spring, and as such, this print makes a perennial return to the catwalks. Lurvin and Novikova Dsgn elevated outerwear with budding blossoms. Rogov breathed life into bomber jackets with a floral motif, transforming this staple piece into a true work of art.
