The artist's first ever footwear brand Ohana Hatake blooms in Selfridges.
After a groundbreaking debut in the USA, visionary artist Takashi Murakami brings his debut footwear brand “Ohana Hatake” to London. From the 4th August til the 24th, Selfridges’ Cornershop becomes the next stop on a global tour that blends art, culture, and design with Murakami’s unmistakable imagination.
Meaning “field of flowers,” ‘Ohana Hatake’ fuses Murakami’s signature world with Japanese craftsmanship and playful innovation. Following its show-stopping reveal at ComplexCon Las Vegas and viral collaborations with BLACKPINK, the brand’s immersive retail experiences have already turned heads in Hong Kong and Shanghai. Now, London gets its turn.
At Selfridges, expect exclusive colourways of the sculptural ‘Ohana Full-Bloom’ and the slipper-inspired ‘Surippa Ohana’, both made from soft, durable EVA foam and engraved with Murakami’s iconic motifs. The space transforms into a joy-filled installation, bringing wearable art to life.
