adidas x Bad Bunny’s ‘Ballerina Sneaker’ Returns In a Puerto-Rican Colourway

Vibrant Bloom.

Bad Bunny is back, but truthfully he never left. A few days after the launch of his 150-piece collection with Zara, adidas has announced the return of his ‘Ballerina’ sneaker in a new vivid red colourway. Inspired by Flamboyán trees, the hue serves as a symbol of Puerto Rican heritage that Bad Bunny frequently embodies in his artistic work, including in fashion collaborations.

As the Flamboyán begins to bloom in late May, it signals the start of summer. Having been discreetly featured in adidas’ World Cup campaign along with a white iteration worn by Bad Bunny during the Super Bowl, the sneaker is tied to a summer filled with sport.

Based on the archival ‘Taekwondo’ silhouette, the Ballerina incorporates bungee-cord lacing and premium suede overlays on the toe and heel with the ‘Benito’ branding near adidas’ signature ‘Three Stripes’. On the exterior, a special sizing tab is included as a reminder of Bad Bunny’s past collaborations with the brand.

adidas x Bad Bunny’s Vivid Red Ballerina is priced at $120 and launches on the 30th of May via the CONFIRMED app, online, and in select retailers. Sign-ups open on the 25th of May through the app.
