Jonathan Anderson, creative director at Loewe, aimed to explore modernity in his latest menswear collection. The brand are known for their excellent use of leather and this collection included black trousers with matching shirts made from paper-thin Kangaroo skin. Anderson has always aspired to be innovative with his use of fabrics and this season there was a double-breasted linen trench waterproofed with a special wax treatment and a double jacquard jacket which is chenille on the inside, cotton/linen on the outside.

Prints of Disney’s Goofy appeared on sweatshirts and there were also princess motifs giving the collection a playful vibe. This playfulness is also seen in the theatrical posing demonstrated by the model. Anderson said, “It’s not always serious, not always about winning” but we think he’s onto a winner with this collection.
