Frank Muytjens, designer at J. Crew, delivered another winning collection at New York fashion week. After being inspired by the discovery of vintage horse blankets, Muytjens has curated a collection which is understated yet so covetable. The designer described the collection as peaceful and nonchalant, demonstrated in the muted stripes and plaids. Stand out pieces included double pleated cord pants, a lamb’s wool cardigan that came loosely belted, and a cropped camel coat. Muytjen’s personal favourite was an extra-long, raglan-sleeved herringbone topcoat worn with a tweed hat and a silk scarf, a scarf which he was sporting himself. If there’s anything we love, it’s when a designer creates clothes that they themselves would wear – brownie points to Muytjens.
