Don't forget where you come from.
In order to produce a clothing collection of any worth we all know that there needs to be a meaningful source of inspiration that the designer can draw from when creating it, and what better inspiration is there than your upbringing?
Specifically, we see Feng Chen Wang look back to her childhood home and the environment surrounding it in order to develop her Autumn/Winter 2018 collection titled “The Way Home”. One example of this inspiration being put to use is her childhood home, number 239, having its number embroidered on a variety of pieces while colours such as gold and red respectively reflect the state of the sun while travelling and arriving at home. When it comes to the garment types we see oversized cuts to mirror hand-me-downs and cosy child-like casualwear provided through hoodies, tracksuits, and winter coats.
