Available June 22nd.
Following on from their first Spring/Summer 2023 drop, luxury UK fashion outfit Florence Black have sat back and reflected for this latest effort, looking to push themselves further into the luxury fashion space by debuting their latest offering: ‘Drop 2’, a distinct take on the basics and tailored streetwear.
‘Drop 2’ sees Florence Black extend their creative branches into pieces that represent a sense of timelessness and refinement, and for the most part, that is achieved. Rooted in rich history, the luxe London-based label was formed upon the discovery of his grandfather’s 60-year-old coat, and founder Finn Lewis never looked back as he strived to capture the same sense of timelessness and craftsmanship that this piece exuded. Fast-forward to 2023, the brand keep this notion firmly in their sights as they look to embrace some of their classic garments as well as their newer silhouettes with ‘Drop 2’, tapping into upper echelon materials for a more opulent look.
Taking what garments previously made them tick and continuing to improve upon them, such as the fan favourite Wool Boxy Short Sleeve Shirt, keeps its place in the line-up and thus adds a sense of familiarity to the range. New silhouettes, shades, and materials – including English Worsted Wool and Australian Lambswool – make sure to further underline themselves as a serious outfit, with Italian fabric mills composing everything from the Crop Boxy T-Shirt and Heavy Tee V3 to the Wide Leg Trousers V2, Cropped V Neck Sweater V2, and the Tailored Trousers and Blazer co-ord. Despite a relatively mild colour palette throughout, ‘Drop 2’ uses this ‘blank canvas’ style to place focus on an attention to detail and higher quality compositions, doing so successfully. Whilst not necessarily reinventing the wheel here, Florence Black’s ‘Drop 2’ does the basics to a high degree, making sure to put quality above all else.
Florence Black’s second Spring/Summer 2023 drop will be available to buy via the Florence Black website today, June 22nd.
