Gran Meliá Celebrates 70 Years with Its Most Exclusive Experience Yet

Gran Meliá is celebrating its 70th anniversary with one of its most exclusive experiences to date, introducing two one-off journeys centred around the total solar eclipse set to take place on 12 August 2026.

Limited to just one booking at each property, the experiences invite guests to witness the rare celestial event from either Hotel de Mar, a Gran Meliá Hotel in Mallorca, or Villa Le Blanc Gran Meliá in Menorca. Each four-night stay begins with arrival by private jet before checking into the hotels’ Presidential Suites, private yacht excursions and island-inspired culinary and wellness experiences. Packages start from €200,000.

The announcement also marks a major milestone for Meliá Hotels International, which was founded in Mallorca in 1956. Seventy years later, the hospitality group is turning the spotlight back to the Balearics, where it all began, through an experience that celebrates both its heritage and one of the world’s most extraordinary natural events.
