Coperni Shuts Down After 13 Years

By November 6, 2026FASHION NEWS

The French brand ceases operations after months of dispute.

After more than a decade at the forefront of fashion’s intersection with technology and innovation, French fashion house Coperni is set to close its doors. Founders Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant announced the decision following months of tensions with its parent group, Tomorrow London.

Described by its founders as an “extraordinary” journey, Coperni first emerged in 2013 and quickly established itself as one of the most forward-thinking names in contemporary fashion. From collaborations with global icons such as Disney to its defining viral moment in 2022, when Bella Hadid stepped onto the runway at the brand’s Spring/Summer 2023 show during Paris Fashion Week wearing a dress created live on her body using spray-on fabric technology, Coperni consistently blurred the boundaries between fashion, technology and spectacle.

In their personal statement addressed to staff, press and public, Coperni cited withheld payments, management shakeups by Tomorrow that led to disagreements between Coperni and Tomorrow, especially with the involvement of Progetto 11, who had stated that it regretted the closure and offered flexibility to the brand.

With the brand having to sit out 2026 Paris Fashion Week due to financial restrictions, the last attempt that Meyer and Vailliant made was in June 2026, when they entered a judicial reorganisation in the Paris Commercial Court to protect its operations whilst trying to rebuy the brand from Tomorrow, but discussions ultimately collapsed, leading to them being forced to cease operations.

Without a doubt, Coperni will be missed, with Meyer and Valliant stating that they have more ideas in mind, saying ‘we cannot wait to share them with you’.
